A peaceful fishing trip has erupted into chaos when local residents were caught on camera confronting a group of teenagers at Delphin Island Lake in Australia. The dispute, sparked by concerns over fishing and damage to the environment, quickly escalated into a heated showdown.
Angry adults were seen tossing the teens’ fishing gear and launching a tirade of harsh words.
One angry local threw the kids fishing rods into a garden while others were abusing the children with one man menacing the children and telling them to “F^ck off”
The residents defended their actions, claiming the teenagers were damaging trees and causing trouble. “These kids are being dropped off by parents. It’s being treated like an unsupervised creche,” one local said. “We just thought enough is enough and we moved them on. The parents don’t want to know about it. They think their kids are angels.”
However, the council has confirmed that fishing is permitted at the lake, provided fishermen stay at least six metres away from any property boundary. Several parents of the teens involved described the adults’ behaviour as “disgusting,” insisting their children are well-behaved and only there to enjoy an easy catch of carp.
Police were called to the scene and are currently investigating the incident. With tensions running high, the community hopes for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing fishing feud at West Lakes.
